I got married in June of 2006. My wife and I have decided to take a year in Japan. We've been accepted by a company to teach English there for a year. We start in October.
College/University:
University of California - Santa Cruz, Attended 1995 - 1999, Class of 1999, Bachelor's Degree, Politics
Occupation:
Ukulele Theorist; High School Teacher
About Me:
The rain. Fresh air. Dark places, too. A chorus of crickets. The greeting of a cat. That Nick Drake LP playing in darkness. Fireflies. Double mocha (from Caffe Pergolesi). Origin stories. Serenades. Thunderstorms. Zines. Taking someone for their first time to the Wax Last Supper. Lou Reed's voice. Laughing with students. Finding beauty. Encouraging beauty. The 1939 NY World's Fair. The surreal. Swedish fish. Sleeping in. Being in water. One more time around the block because the song isn't over yet. I can't throw anything away! I am loyal, driven, twisted (but never harmful), a gentleman, a safe place. As a band member, I was always late for practice; so now I play the ukulele instead. I put on indie shows. I collect vintage postcards of Santa Cruz and of the Berkshires.
